Grant Hansman is a Senior Research Fellow at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics, specializing in norovirus structural biology and antiviral development. His research combines structural virology, nanobody engineering, and diagnostic innovation.
He leads projects developing norovirus therapeutics using nanobody technologies and lateral flow diagnostics. His structural studies of viral capsids have identified key vulnerabilities for therapeutic intervention, leading to high-affinity nanobodies that block viral receptor binding.
Current research examines antigenic variation in bat and human noroviruses, fucose-functionalized inhibitors, and broad-spectrum Fc-nanobody therapeutics. He collaborates internationally on projects including BIOSCAN Canada and Marine Bioproducts CRC.
