Dr. Patrice Guillon is a Senior Research Fellow at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. His research focuses on viral interactions with glycans, antiviral drug discovery, and host-pathogen mechanisms. He holds a PhD in Virology and Glycobiology from the University of Nantes (2008). His work includes studies on noroviruses, SARS-CoV, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). He has supervised multiple doctoral students and led projects funded by institutions like the NHMRC and Australian Research Council.
Education: BSc in Biology (University of Nantes, 2002), MSc (University of Burgundy, 2004), PhD in Virology/Glycobiology (2008).
Research interests include viral glycan interactions, innate immunity, and drug repurposing. He has authored over 30 publications, with recent work on SARS-CoV-2 detection devices and parainfluenza virus glycome remodeling. He has served on university committees and contributed to international collaborations.
