Graham Mayeda is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law (Common Law Section) of the University of Ottawa. He holds advanced degrees in philosophy (Ph.D., M.A.) and law (J.D.) from the University of Toronto. His academic career bridges philosophy and legal scholarship, with a focus on criminal law, private law, administrative law, and legal theory, particularly examining the influence of international law on sustainable development.
His research integrates East Asian ethics with 20th-century European philosophy (e.g., Heidegger, Levinas) and explores intersections between artificial intelligence and legal reasoning. His publications span journals and edited volumes, addressing topics like judicial pragmatism, environmental protest law, and privacy in digital contexts.
