Graham J. Leuschke is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Mathematics at Syracuse University, part of the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2000), an M.A. from the same institution (1997), and a B.A. in Mathematics from Reed College (1995).
His research focuses on commutative algebra, non-commutative algebraic geometry, and representation theory, with particular emphasis on maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules, non-commutative desingularizations, and determinantal varieties. He co-authored the influential book *Cohen-Macaulay Representations* (2012) and edited volumes on commutative algebra and representation theory.
Leuschke has been recognized with the Wiley Top Viewed Article award (2023). He serves on the editorial board of *Communications in Algebra* (2012–2023) and co-founded the community website commalg.org. His service roles include Senator in the University Senate (2021–2025) and Associate Chair for Graduate Affairs (2015–2020).
He leads research grants including the NSF-funded *Annual New York State Regional Graduate Mathematics Conference* (2019–2024) and co-PI'd projects on non-commutative desingularizations of Schubert varieties. His teaching spans advanced courses like Commutative Algebra and Representation Theory of Groups and Algebras.
