Anna Weigandt is an active Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematics at the University of Minnesota. Previously, she served as an instructor at MIT's Department of Mathematics and an IBL Postdoctoral Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. She completed her PhD at the University of Illinois in 2018 under Alexander Yong's supervision.
Her research focuses on algebraic combinatorics with emphasis on Schubert calculus and combinatorial algebraic geometry. Key contributions include developing the prism tableau model for Schubert polynomials, establishing connections between bumpless pipe dreams and alternating sign matrices, and providing Gröbner geometric interpretations for matrix Schubert varieties. She investigates Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of determinantal ideals and explores quantum dilogarithm identities in quiver representations.
Dr. Weigandt actively contributes to academic community through seminar organization, including the UMN Combinatorics Seminar and the 2025 SLMath Summer School on Graphical Models in Algebraic Combinatorics. Her research is supported by NSF Grant DMS-2344764.
