معرفی
Jaiung Jun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the State University of New York at New Paltz. His research spans algebraic geometry, combinatorics, and their intersections with tropical geometry, F_1-geometry, and hyperfields. He has secured significant grants, including the NSF LEAPS-MPS ($250,000, DMS-2532394) and AMS-Simons Research Enhancement Grants.

- F_1-Geometry
- Hyperfields
- Hopf Algebras
His work explores generalized structures such as vector bundles over tropical schemes, quiver representations over F_1, and Hall algebras derived from non-additive categories. Recent publications focus on matroid theory, hyperfields, and combinatorial aspects of algebraic structures.
Scientific awards include:
- NSF LEAPS-MPS Grant
- AMS-Simons Research Enhancement Grant
- SIAM Early Career Travel Award
- Multiple SUNY New Paltz Research and Creative Projects Awards
Jun has mentored numerous undergraduate students in projects related to graph theory, Picard groups, and combinatorial optimization, including Mason Eyler, Malka Dickman, and Matthew Pisano. He actively organizes research seminars and community outreach programs, such as the Symposium for Undergraduate Mathematics Research (SUMR).
