Graeme J. Hankey AO is Clinical Professor and Perron Institute Chair in Stroke Research at the University of Western Australia. A world-renowned neurologist, his research spans stroke prevention, acute treatment trials, and epidemiology. With over 1,100 publications and 405,000+ citations, he leads international clinical trials and has received numerous awards including the American Stroke Association's Sherman Lecture Award.
His research focuses on novel anticoagulants, antiplatelet therapies, and neuroprotective strategies. Current trials investigate anticoagulants like milvexian for stroke prevention and colchicine for secondary prevention. He co-leads global burden of disease studies quantifying stroke impact worldwide.
