Gozie Offiah

Prof. Gozie Offiah is an Associate Professor and Director of Curriculum at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, leading curriculum design and delivery across Dublin and Bahrain. She holds dual roles in academia and clinical leadership, including past service as National Clinical Lead for the Irish Intern Training Programme (2018–2024). Her research focuses on medical education equity, gender issues in surgery, and curriculum innovation. She co-chairs RCSI’s Race Equality Forum and serves as President-Elect of the International Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH).

Education: BSc Chemistry (University College Dublin), MB BCh BAO (RCSI), MD (RCSI), MMedSc (Queen’s University Belfast), PhD in Medical Education (University of Dundee). Leadership training includes Aurora Leadership Development (2018), Health Service Leadership Academy (2019), and Advance HE’s Senior Strategic Leadership (2024).

Research interests include qualitative methodologies, surgical workplace cultures, and healthcare leadership. She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and serves on global accreditation bodies like the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM). Her work impacts national/international policies and medical training frameworks.

Key achievements include redesigning Ireland’s National Intern Training Programme, co-founding the Atlantic Surgical Leadership Exchange Programme, and mentoring teams in global surgical training initiatives. She actively contributes to medical education through roles in journal peer review and doctoral supervision.
