Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell DBE, DL is the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath and holds the title of Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology. She specializes in social psychology, leadership, identity processes, and risk management. Her academic journey includes a PhD from the University of Bristol and a DSc from the University of Oxford where she held a Prize Fellowship at Nuffield College.
Her professional roles extend beyond academia: she serves as Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), Director of Universities UK (UUK), Non-Executive Director of NHS Improvement Board, and member of the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC). She champions university roles in scientific innovation and economic regeneration, and has been recognized for services to higher education with a DBE honor in 2012.
