Professor Gloria Monaghan is a faculty member at Wentworth Institute of Technology, recognized for her work in documentary filmmaking and literary arts. She produced the short documentary Daughter of Rubens, which explores the life of artist Nancy Ellen Craig and was supported by a Bistline Grant. The film premiered at Wentworth’s Blount Auditorium and is screening at the Provincetown Film Festival alongside gallery exhibitions in Orleans, Cape Cod, and Wellfleet. Monaghan’s recent literary work, Cormorant on the Strand, was praised for its innovative narrative structures and interviewed by poet Richard Blanco. Her academic contributions span interdisciplinary projects linking visual arts, film, and poetry.
Her research interests focus on documenting underrepresented artists and exploring intersections between creative writing and visual mediums. Monaghan’s work has been featured in Provincetown Independent, Cape Cod Chronicle, and other regional publications, reflecting her commitment to regional cultural narratives.
