Gloria Marco Munuera is a Professor of Photography in the Studio Art Department at Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA) in Florence, Italy. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts Photography and teaches full-time, specializing in both digital and alternative photography techniques.
Her academic background includes a PhD in Fine Arts Photography from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, an MFA from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, an MA in Photography from the Libera Accademia of Art in Florence, Italy, and a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music from the Royal Conservatory of Classical Music of Albacete, Spain. This interdisciplinary foundation informs her unique approach to photographic practice and pedagogy.
Marco Munuera's research explores the boundaries of biometric methodology and identification through photography, with particular focus on representing inherent human identity through elements like skin. Her scholarly work aims to depict non-figurative yet reliable forms of identity, challenging traditional Renaissance perspective and conventional representation principles.
