Glenn R. Carroll is the Adams Distinguished Professor of Management at Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Sociology at Stanford University. He specializes in organizational behavior, strategic management, and institutional theory. His research explores topics such as organizational culture, authenticity in markets, and the evolution of industries. Carroll has held academic roles at Brown University, UC Berkeley, Columbia, and Stanford since 2000, and served as a visiting professor at institutions worldwide.
Education: PhD, MA, and BA from Indiana University and Stanford University.
Research Interests: Authenticity in consumer markets, organizational culture dynamics, strategy formulation, and the impact of institutional environments on organizations. His work bridges sociology and management, emphasizing empirical studies of real-world phenomena.
