Dr. Glen Dighton is a Research Officer at Swansea University's Military Gambling Research Center within the Joint Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Sciences. He previously held roles including Research Facilitation Officer at the Gambling Research, Education, and Treatment Network; Postdoctoral Research Associate at King's Centre for Military Health Research (King's College London); and Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Swansea University. His expertise focuses on gambling-related harm, military and veteran mental health, and the intersection of gambling and digital gaming.
His research interests include addictive behaviors, qualitative data analysis, and survey methodology. Notable work examines gambling problems among UK military veterans, associations with PTSD, and social/economic impacts. He has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed articles since 2017, addressing topics like veteran mental health, family influences on gambling, and gambling harm prevention policies.
Dr. Dighton has taught on King's College London's MSc War and Psychiatry program and served as a personal tutor for psychology and neuroscience students. His current projects investigate family dynamics in gambling behaviors and NHS gambling harm services in Wales.
