Giuseppe Girgenti

Giuseppe Girgenti is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, where he has taught since its founding in 2002. His research focuses on the history of ancient philosophy, particularly Platonism and its intersections with Christianity, medieval theology, and phenomenology. Girgenti holds a PhD from the Catholic University of Milan (1994) and has held academic positions at institutions including the International Academy of Philosophy in Liechtenstein.

His work bridges historical-hermeneutic approaches with phenomenology, influenced by thinkers like Gadamer, Patocka, and Wojtyła. He has organized major philosophical events featuring scholars such as Hans-Georg Gadamer and has been editor for prestigious series like "Il Pensiero occidentale" and "Testi a fronte". His recent publications address AI ethics, ancient wisdom, and transfiguration concepts.

Active in academic governance, Girgenti has served on doctoral committees (since 2015) and engages in public philosophy through lectures, radio programs, and school outreach. He is a member of the Italian Society for Ancient Philosophy and the Italian Society of Philosophy.
