Girish Ramchandani

Girish Ramchandani, Ph.D., is Professor of Applied Sport Management at Sheffield Hallam University with expertise in sports economics, impact assessment, and performance analysis. A trained economist and Social Return on Investment (SROI) practitioner, his research examines the economic and social value of sport.

His methodological approach combines quantitative analysis of large datasets with innovative valuation techniques. As a senior researcher at the Sport Industry Research Centre, he has conducted over 100 economic impact studies for organizations including UK Sport, The R&A, and Ryder Cup Europe. His SROI models quantifying sport's social value have been implemented nationally across England and Wales.

Dr. Ramchandani serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Global Sport Management and Managing Sport and Leisure. He co-authored 'The Global Economics of Sport' and has published extensively on event legacy, competitive balance, and sport participation behaviors. His research has influenced sport policy and investment decisions internationally.
