Gina Messina, PhD, MBA, is an Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Institute for Women at Ursuline College. She holds adjunct roles in Religious Studies and has over 25 years of experience in women's leadership, intersectionality, emotional intelligence, and spiritual well-being. A recognized thought leader, Dr. Messina focuses on advancing diverse women's voices through education and advocacy.
Her career spans non-profit advocacy and higher education, with international recognition for speaking at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, TEDx, and media outlets like MSNBC, PBS, NPR, and SiriusXM Radio. She has authored or edited five books, including two named among the top 100 books on women’s spirituality, and contributes to platforms such as The Huffington Post.
Dr. Messina’s work emphasizes positive social change and has been featured in The Washington Post, HuffPost, The Associated Press, and The Boston Globe. She leads initiatives at the Institute for Women, fostering women’s empowerment through academic and community engagement.
