Gigi Adair is a Junior Professor for Migration and Anglophone Cultures of the Global South at the University of Bielefeld, affiliated with the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature. Her academic journey began with a B. Liberal Studies (Hons) from the University of Sydney (2005), followed by an MA (2011) and PhD (2015) in English Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
Research Focus: Adair’s work bridges postcolonial studies, gender studies, and migration literature, examining anglophone Caribbean, West African, and British texts. She investigates diaspora, relationality, neoliberalism, and utopian aesthetics through literary and cultural analysis, emphasizing literature as a form of knowledge production about migration.
