Rhonda Frederick is a Professor of English and African & African Diaspora Studies (AADS) at Boston College, where she previously served as Director of AADS. She specializes in Anglophone Caribbean and African diaspora literatures, with a focus on popular genres like fantasy, science fiction, and romance written by Black authors. Her research bridges postcolonial studies, cultural analysis, and migration narratives.

- Affiliations: Member of ASA, ACWWS, CSA, and MLA
Her work explores how Black writers reimagine identity through speculative genres, as seen in her monographs Evidence of Things Not Seen (2022) and Colón Man a Come (2005). Recent projects include analyses of Nalo Hopkinson’s Midnight Robber and Patrick Chamoiseau’s Solibo Magnificent.
