Ghenekaro Esin, MD is a Research Fellow in Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He completed his MD at Meharry Medical College (2019) and BS at University of Alabama at Birmingham (2013). His research focuses on myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA), cardiac rehabilitation referral patterns, and vascular pathophysiology in diverse populations. Dr. Esin collaborates frequently with S. Elissa Altin, MD and other cardiologists at Yale. His work has been published in Coronary Artery Disease and Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Recent contributions include a 2024 study analyzing MINOCA demographics by sex and race, revealing disparities in presentation and outcomes. He has also investigated predictors of cardiac rehabilitation referrals among MINOCA patients and characterized a unique patient subgroup with stent-associated myocardial infarction.
