Gerardo Ferbeyre

Dr. Gerardo Ferbeyre is a Full Professor at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. His research focuses on cellular senescence, cancer biology, and molecular mechanisms of aging, particularly how oncogenes and DNA damage activate senescence pathways. He leads a multidisciplinary team investigating senescence-associated secretory phenotypes, ribosomal stress, and therapeutic targets like metformin and senolytics. Collaborations include the Research Center of the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CRCHUM) and the AIDS and Infectious Diseases Network (AIDS/ID).
