Geraint Rees is the Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement) at University College London (UCL), providing academic leadership for UCL’s research, knowledge exchange, and global initiatives. He has held multiple senior roles at UCL, including Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, and Pro-Vice-Provost (AI). His academic expertise lies in cognitive neurology, and he has contributed to interdisciplinary research bridging neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
Geraint is also a non-executive Director of UCL Business (a leading technology transfer company) and the Crick Institute. Previously, he served as a Senior Scientific Advisor at DeepMind (2018–2020), further demonstrating his engagement with cutting-edge research and innovation.
