George Pagoulatos is a Professor of European Politics and Economy at Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB) and has been a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges since 2006. He currently serves as the Ambassador of Greece to the OECD (since 2023). Previously, he was Director General of ELIAMEP (2019–2023), a leading Greek think tank, and held advisory roles for the President of Greece (2020–2023) and the Prime Minister’s Office (2011–2012). He has been a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford (MSc and DPhil) and holds an LLB from the University of Athens.
His research focuses on the EU’s economic governance, political economy of financial systems, and reform dynamics. He regularly contributes to policy debates through op-eds in Kathimerini and academic publications. Pagoulatos has advised both public and private sectors, emphasizing practical applications of his research. He has held leadership roles in institutions like the European University Institute (2010–2013) and ECSA-Greece (2013–2014).
