George Michaelides is a Professor of Work Psychology at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. He holds membership in the Employment Systems and Institutions department. Previously, he worked at institutions including the University of Sheffield’s Institute of Work Psychology and the London School of Economics. His research focuses on employee well-being dynamics, organizational contexts, and computational methods in work psychology. He advises PhD candidates exploring longitudinal data analysis and job design.
Education: PhD in Business and Management from University of Nottingham (2000s). Past roles include positions at Nottingham Trent University, Birkbeck, and others.
Research Interests: Employee well-being trajectories, motivation processes, Bayesian analysis applications, and boundary management in work-life contexts. Current projects examine assessment center methodologies and mindfulness in policing.
Activities & Grants: Editor for Human Performance journal. Led projects like “The Multidimensional Nature of Assessment Center Dimensions” (2020–2022) and a mindfulness evaluation for the College of Policing (2018–2019). Collaborates on topics such as work-life conflict and unemployment well-being.
Labs/Teams: Involved in interdisciplinary research teams studying resilience, sustainability behaviors, and organizational interventions. Co-developed datasets on psychological health and team performance.
