Dr. George Katselis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine, where he leads the CCRAH Mass Spectrometry Laboratory for Omics Research. His research program focuses on clinical proteomics, metabolomics, and biomarker discovery using advanced mass spectrometry techniques.
Research Focus: Biomedical applications of mass spectrometry including structural proteomics, pharmaceutical analysis, and environmental health impacts. Current projects investigate protein interactions, metabolic pathways in disease states, and agricultural health applications.
Professional Background: Holds B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from Dalhousie University, M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry of Natural Products, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Saskatchewan. Completed post-doctoral fellowship in proteomics at City of Hope Medical Center.
Laboratory Leadership: Develops mass spectrometry-based approaches for clinical diagnostics, environmental exposure assessment, and pharmaceutical applications. The laboratory supports omics research across multiple departments.
