معرفی
David D. Y. Chen is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). His research focuses on chemical separation techniques, particularly capillary electrophoresis (CE) and mass spectrometry (MS), with applications in environmental analysis, biochemistry, and pharmaceuticals. He leads a lab exploring novel instrument designs, interface development for CE-MS, and purification strategies.
Education: B.Sc. from Xiamen University (1985), Ph.D. from the University of Alberta (1993), followed by postdoctoral research there and at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Awards include the Royal Society of Chemistry Award (2001), UBC Charles A. McDowell Award (2002), and Canadian Society for Chemistry medals (2008, 2015).
Research interests span analytical chemistry innovations, including affinity CE for biochemical interactions, green extraction methods using deep eutectic solvents, and real-time mass spectrometry for environmental and biological samples. Collaborations include studies on anesthetic agents' cardioprotective effects and oxidative stress markers.
Publications emphasize advanced separation techniques, environmental contaminant detection, and proteomic/metabolomic analyses. His lab actively engages in developing high-throughput and eco-friendly analytical tools.
