Dr. George Demetriades is an Assistant Professor in International Trade Law, Banking Law, and Competition Law at Neapolis University Paphos (NUP). He coordinates the MA in Financial Crime and Criminal Justice program and serves as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association. His academic background includes a PhD from the University of London's Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (2012), focusing on fiduciary obligations in banking. He holds an LLB from the University of Leicester (2007) and a call to the English Bar (2008).
His research interests center on banking law compliance, fiduciary duties in financial transactions, and anti-money laundering strategies. Notably, his 2016 paper on due diligence in financial crime prevention earned a prestigious award. Dr. Demetriades' work bridges traditional legal principles with modern financial regulatory challenges.
