George Chalamandaris

George Chalamandaris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and pursued postgraduate studies at Imperial College London, where he earned an MSc in Control Systems and a PhD in Quantitative Finance.

His research expertise centers on financial markets, with specialized focus areas including derivatives and fixed-income market analysis. He also investigates machine learning applications for evaluating investment strategies. His work appears in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, and Quantitative Finance, and has been presented at over 30 academic conferences.

Prior to academia, Dr. Chalamandaris held roles as a risk analyst, trader, and structurer at Natwest Markets (London) and Eurobank (Greece).
