Georg Vrachliotis

Georg Vrachliotis is a Full Professor of Theory of Architecture and Digital Culture at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), where he has worked since 2020. Previously, he held multiple roles at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), including Dean of the Faculty of Architecture (2016-2019) and Chair for Architecture Theory (2014-2020). He also served as a Senior Assistant and Scientific Assistant at ETH Zurich and as a Visiting Professor at TU Vienna.

• Education: Architecture studies at Berlin University of the Arts; PhD at ETH Zurich (2009)

His research focuses on the history and theory of architecture, digital culture, and media history, with a particular emphasis on 20th-21st century architectural philosophy and technology. He has curated notable exhibitions, including 'Models, Media and Methods. Frei Otto's Architectural Research' at Yale University (2020) and 'Sleeping Beauty. Reinventing Frei Ottos Multihalle' at the Venice Biennale (2018).

Scientific awards include the 2014 KIT Best Teaching Award and the 2020 CICA Julius Posener Exhibition Catalogue Award. He is an external examiner at Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL London, and a member of the advisory board for the magazine ARCH+.
