Geoffrey Wood is a Professor and DanCap Private Equity Endowed Chair, serving as Department Chair of the DAN Department of Management & Organizational Studies at Western University in Canada. Previously, he held roles as Dean and Professor at Essex Business School and Professor at Warwick Business School. His research focuses on institutional settings, corporate governance, firm finance, and employment relations. He has authored/co-authored 18 books and over 220 peer-reviewed articles. Key awards include Fellowships from the Academy of Social Sciences and British Academy of Management, alongside an Honorary Doctorate from Aristotle University.
Research interests emphasize institutional contexts shaping business practices, with contributions to state capitalism, international HRM, and energy transitions. His articles analyze topics like AI’s impact on labor, QE effects on corporate debt, and protectionism’s influence on MNE strategies. Wood edits major journals, including the Human Resource Management Journal, and oversees ABS Journal rankings. He secured grants from ESRC, EU, and labor organizations, focusing on governance, finance, and workforce dynamics.
As an influential editor and researcher, Wood’s work bridges theory and practice, addressing global challenges like sustainability, digital transformation, and institutional diversity.
