Dr. Stefano Maiani is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences within Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University. He joined in 2023 and previously held roles at the University of Essex (2018–2023) and Leuphana University of Lüneburg (2020–2023). He holds an MRes and PhD in Finance from the University of Essex, following undergraduate studies at the University of Bologna.
His research focuses on private equity, venture capital, climate finance, sustainable investment, and international economics. Key contributions include studies on oil price dynamics, quantitative easing impacts, Brexit effects on private equity, and green innovation financing. His work appears in journals like the Journal of International Money and Finance and British Journal of Management.
