Gemma Solimene is a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law, specializing in Immigration Law and directing the Immigrant Rights Clinic. With over 28 years of experience representing underserved communities, she has taught Immigration Law, Ethics in Public Interest Law, and simulation-based skills courses, while also contributing to trial skills training for law firms.
- Education: BA magna cum laude from SUNY Stony Brook (1984), JD from New York University School of Law (1987)
Her research and practice focus on immigration rights, clinical teaching methodologies, and social justice litigation. She has previously served as Attorney-in-Charge of The Legal Aid Society’s Immigration Law Unit and taught in NYU School of Law’s Clinical Program.
Professor Solimene’s career bridges academic instruction with real-world advocacy, integrating federal litigation strategies and pro bono collaboration to advance immigrant rights.
