Professor Gemma Smyth is an Associate Professor and Externship Director at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law, where she also serves as Academic Clinic Director for the Class Action Clinic. She holds advanced degrees including an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall and has held leadership roles such as Associate Dean (Academic) and Director of University of Windsor Mediation Services. Her teaching spans Clinic Seminar, Dispute Resolution, and Trauma- and Violence-Informed Lawyering. Research focuses on clinical legal education, systemic advocacy, and legal pedagogy. She co-authored Canada's first clinical legal education textbook and maintains open-access resources like Learning in Place and a YouTube channel for legal practitioners. Affiliations include the Association for Canadian Clinical Legal Education (Past President), Canadian National Negotiation Competition Board, and the ADR Institute of Canada.
