Prof. Gemma Modinos is a Professor of Neuroscience & Mental Health at the Department of Psychological Medicine, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London. She leads the Modinos Lab at the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders and chairs the ENIGMA Schizotypy consortium, the largest global effort in neuroimaging research for schizotypy.

Her research focuses on translational studies bridging preclinical and clinical science to investigate brain mechanisms of psychosis vulnerability, particularly targeting GABA and glutamate neurotransmission. She develops multimodal neuroimaging approaches to link MRI markers to cellular/molecular mechanisms and explores pharmacological strategies for therapeutic innovation.

Her work integrates patient collaboration and public engagement initiatives.
