Professor Gbenga Ibikunle is the Personal Chair of Finance at the University of Edinburgh's Business School, where he directs the Edinburgh Centre for Financial Innovations and co-directs the Centre for Purpose-Driven Innovation in Banking (funded by NatWest Group). He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2025) and serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Resilient Financial Systems (2023–2024). His career includes visiting professorships at Macquarie University, Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, and China University of Petroleum.
