Luca Taschini

Luca Taschini is a Professor and Chair in Climate Change Finance at the University of Edinburgh Business School. He serves as Director of the Centre for Business, Climate Change, and Sustainability (B-CCaS) and holds affiliations as a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute (London School of Economics) and a Fellow at CESifo Energy and Climate Economics. His interdisciplinary research bridges economics, finance, and climate policy.

• Education: PhD in Finance from the University of Zurich

His research focuses on emission trading systems, carbon pricing, and climate risk modeling. Key themes include renewable energy economics, policy evaluation, and sustainable finance. Recent projects analyze border carbon adjustments, electricity market decarbonization, and the financial implications of climate policies.

His publications span journals like the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and policy reports addressing EU ETS, CBAM, and greenhouse gas emissions. Collaborations include the MIT Joint Program on Global Change and Ritsumeikan University’s Sustainability Science team.

Luca actively engages in climate finance consultancy and has contributed to policy discussions with the Bank of England and international workshops. He supervises PhD students in economics and finance disciplines.
