Gayle DeDe, PhD, CCC-SLP is a Research Associate Professor at Temple University's College of Public Health within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She co-directs the Speech, Language, and Brain Lab (SLAB Lab) and leads the Philadelphia Aphasia Community at Temple (PACT).
- Education: BA in Psychology (McGill University), MS and PhD in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences (Boston University)
Her research focuses on:
- Language comprehension mechanisms in healthy aging and aphasia
- Integration of conceptual and linguistic information during sentence processing
- Development of group-based aphasia treatment approaches
- Reading comprehension rehabilitation for aphasia patients
Selected publications highlight her work in eye-tracking studies of aphasia, discourse-level treatment outcomes, and cognitive-linguistic interactions in neurogenic disorders. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in aphasia, human neuroscience, and communication disorders rehabilitation.
