Gayle Blankenburg is a Lecturer in Music at Pomona College, specializing in Piano and Musicianship. She has been a member of the faculty since 1994 and teaches individual piano instruction and music theory labs. Her affiliation is with the Department of Music within the College of Arts and Sciences at Pomona College.

Gayle Blankenburg is an acclaimed pianist with a strong focus on solo and chamber music performance. Her artistic interests include contemporary classical works, vocal and instrumental chamber music, and pedagogy in musicianship and piano. She has performed internationally in prestigious venues across the United States, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand, including the Library of Congress, Schoenberg Institute in Vienna, and REDCAT in Los Angeles.
Her recordings, particularly of Elliott Carter, Carlos Chavez, Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, and Karl Kohn’s flute/piano works, have received high critical acclaim from publications such as Gramophone Magazine, Opera News, and The American Record Guide. The Los Angeles Times has praised her performances for their elegant power, crisp touch, and expressive depth.
She is actively engaged in performance and music education at Pomona College and continues to contribute to the artistic and academic life of the institution.
