Professor Gary Sacks is a Professor of Public Health Policy and Co-Director of the Global Centre for Preventive Health and Nutrition (GLOBE) at Deakin University. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Health, specifically within the School of Health and Social Development and the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University's Melbourne Burwood Campus in Victoria, Australia.

He has a broad range of international public health research and policy experience, including placements at the World Health Organization (Switzerland), the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (Australia), Harvard University (USA), the University of Oxford (UK), and the International Telecommunications Union (Switzerland).
His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on food policy interventions, including analysis of ultra-processed foods, food marketing to children, food labeling systems, and fiscal measures like sugar-sweetened beverage taxes. His research combines epidemiological evidence with policy analysis to identify effective strategies for improving population diets and preventing obesity.
