Gary P. Epstein-Lubow is an Associate Professor across three departments at Brown University: Psychiatry and Human Behavior (Alpert Medical School), Medical Science (Alpert Medical School), and Health Services, Policy and Practice (School of Public Health). His roles include clinical service provision at Butler Hospital and leadership in national dementia care initiatives. He holds leadership positions in high-impact projects funded by NIH, CDC, and other federal agencies, focusing on dementia services delivery and workforce development.

Research Interests: Dr. Epstein-Lubow’s work centers on improving dementia care through policy and clinical practice innovation. Key areas include caregiver support systems, geriatric mental health service delivery, and stakeholder-engaged research. He co-leads Rhode Island’s Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI), enhancing dementia care experiences statewide.
Policy Engagement: As a former member of the U.S. HHS Advisory Council for Alzheimer’s Research, he pioneered initiatives involving people living with dementia as research stakeholders. His Health and Aging Policy Fellowship (2016-17) further underscores his policy impact.
Teaching: Course director for Population and Clinical Medicine in Brown’s Primary Care- Population Medicine program; mentors early-career researchers in geriatric psychiatry and health services research.
