Dr. Garry Shen is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He holds cross-appointments in Physiology and Pathophysiology, and Food and Human Nutritional Sciences. As a leading expert in diabetic cardiovascular complications and gestational diabetes, his research spans basic sciences, clinical sciences, and public/community health, focusing on microbiome/metabolomics applications and nutritional interventions using Saskatoon berry/wild rice.
