Christine Doucette is an Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She is a research scientist at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM), where she co-leads the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) research group. Her lab focuses on molecular and metabolic regulation of pancreatic insulin secretion, particularly disruptions in type 2 diabetes.

Her research employs rodent and cell models to reverse-engineer diabetes mechanisms, investigates the circadian clock's role in metabolic dysfunction, and uses gene-editing technologies to study the HNF-1aG319S variant linked to youth-onset diabetes in Manitoba. Funded by CIHR and NSERC.
