Garima Sahai

Dr Garima Sahai is a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge's Department of Geography and a Bye Fellow in Geography at Murray Edwards College. Her research focuses on youth, gender, and work in the Global South, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches linking research, policy, and development practice. She has held roles at the World Bank and Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).

Dr Sahai leads the multi-country Green Jobs and Youth Voices project in sub-Saharan Africa and co-founded the Commission on Young People and Work in collaboration with Prof. Bhaskar Vira and others. Her doctoral work examined young women's entry into non-traditional occupations in India, drawing on 76 interviews in Delhi slums.
