Prof. Ganesh Acharya is a Professor and Head of the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Karolinska Institutet's Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC). He also serves as a Senior Consultant at Karolinska University Hospital and holds an adjunct professorship at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway. His academic journey includes MD from Lviv State Medical Institute, postgraduate diplomas from Trivhuvan University, and advanced degrees in Medical Imaging and Fetal Circulatory Physiology from the University of Hertfordshire and University of Tromsø. He has held roles including Guest Professor at Karolinska Institutet and visiting positions at the University of Oxford and Fudan University.
**Research Interests**: Fetal medicine, placental biology, reproductive endocrinology, high-risk obstetrics, and medical education. He leads studies on embryonic development, fetal ultrasound techniques, and global maternal health. His work bridges clinical practice with innovative imaging and AI-driven diagnostics.
**Editorial Roles**: Editor-in-Chief of Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica (2015–2024), former Scientific Editor of BJOG, and Guest Editor for Frontiers in Endocrinology. His research spans fetal cardiovascular physiology, organoid models for endometrial studies, and AI applications in embryo selection.
