Gabriel Piqué

Gabriel Piqué, DMA, is the Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Baylor University, recognized for his technical mastery and musical sensitivity. With a teaching philosophy emphasizing "creative problem-solving, a welcoming studio, honest communication, and a dash of humor," he bridges classical and jazz traditions through performance and pedagogy.

A globally active performer, Piqué has concertized in Las Vegas, Zagreb, Moscow, Strasbourg, Beijing, Las Palmas, and Bangkok. His accolades include top prizes at the North American Saxophone Alliance Solo Competition, Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and Plowman Chamber Music Competition.

As an educator, he draws from training under Debra Richtmeyer, Chien-Kwan Lin, and Connie Frigo in classical saxophone, while deepening his jazz expertise with Dave D’Angelo (Buddy Rich Orchestra) and Ron Bridgewater (Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra).
