Ben Still

Ben Still is an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts + Architecture at UNC Charlotte, advising Graphic Design and first-year Architecture students. He also teaches applied saxophone and chamber music in the Department of Music. He is a founding member and tenor saxophonist of the Mirasol Quartet, renowned for chamber music advocacy and educational outreach. His performance career includes solo engagements with orchestras such as the Lubbock Symphony and collaborations with jazz artists like Rodney Booth and Bill Watrous.

Education: DMA and MM in Performance from Texas Tech University; BM in Performance from UNC Charlotte (summa cum laude, honors). Notable teachers include David Dees and Stephen Jones. Affiliations include Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the North American Saxophone Alliance. As a Conn-Selmer Artist/Clinician, he exclusively performs on Selmer Paris saxophones.

Performance highlights include appearances at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, North American Saxophone Alliance Conferences, and the International Saxophone Symposium. His awards span chamber music competitions (Fischoff, ENKOR) and solo competitions (MTNA, Texas Tech Concerto).

Professional activities focus on chamber music education, jazz performance, and saxophone pedagogy. He actively engages in clinics and masterclasses through the Mirasol Quartet's national performances.
