Gabriel Burdin is an Associate Professor in Economics at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, and holds a primary academic position as Associate Professor at the University of Siena, Department of Economics and Statistics. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School and an Affiliated Researcher at FCEA, Universidad de la República (Uruguay). He is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) and the Global Labor Organization (GLO).

Burdin is actively involved in academic service as coeditor of Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics and member of the editorial board of Journal of Participation and Employee Ownership (JPEO). He teaches Behavioural Economics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervises UG, MSc, and PhD dissertations. He welcomes PhD students in his research areas. His affiliations with IZA, GLO, and FCEA reflect a broad international research network focused on labour and cooperative economics.
He is affiliated with research teams at IZA, where he contributes to ongoing projects on labour market institutions and technological change. His work with Filippo Belloc, Fabio Landini, Takao Kato, and others forms a cohesive research cluster on workplace governance and employee participation.
