Gabin Fabre

Gabin Fabre is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Limoges, where he has been working since 2017. His research focuses on multi-scale modeling of local pharmacokinetics, with particular emphasis on molecular dynamics simulations of drug-membrane interactions. He is affiliated with the CBRS (Centre de Biophysique et de Radiothérapie Structurale) at the University of Limoges, located at 2 rue du Prof. Descottes in Limoges.

Dr. Fabre completed his Pharmacy Studies at the University of Limoges (2006-2012) followed by a PhD in Molecular Modeling (2012-2015) at the same institution. Prior to his current position, he served as a Temporary Lecturer and Researcher (ATER) at the University of Limoges from 2015 to 2017.

His primary research interests include molecular dynamics, membrane biophysics, drug permeation, xenobiotics, and antioxidants. Dr. Fabre's work combines computational approaches with experimental validation to understand how molecules interact with biological membranes, which has significant implications for drug design and delivery. His research particularly focuses on how antioxidants behave in lipid membranes and how drugs cross biological barriers. His work bridges computational chemistry, biophysics, and pharmaceutical sciences.

Dr. Fabre's publication record shows a consistent focus on membrane-related research with applications in pharmacology. His most recent work includes developing the MemCross method for assessing membrane permeability, creating fluorogenic chemical probes for imaging membrane damage, and investigating the behavior of natural compounds in biological membranes. His research spans both fundamental membrane biophysics and applied pharmaceutical sciences.

As an educator, Dr. Fabre teaches Physical Chemistry in PASS, LAS, and Pharmacy programs, Biophysics in PASS, and Scientific Methodology in LAS and DFGSP2. He is also actively involved in scientific outreach activities through Scientibus and Molecular Journey, demonstrating his commitment to public engagement with science.
