Dave Barlow is a Professor in Computational & Molecular Biophysics at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Pharmacy. He leads the Pharmaceutical Chemistry teaching section and focuses on structural and computational studies of drugs, drug delivery systems, and gene delivery mechanisms.
- BSc in Biochemistry, University College London (1975)
- MSc in Bio-molecular Organisation, Birkbeck College (part-time, final two years of teaching)
- PhD in Molecular Graphics & Drug Design, Birkbeck College (1984)
His research spans the characterization of molecular architectures and membrane interactions of gene delivery vehicles, development of software for modeling biological membranes, expert systems for drug discovery, and heterologous expression of eukaryotic integral membrane proteins. He also contributes to non-equilibrium science through the Research Centre for Non-Equilibrium Science (CNES).
Dave Barlow is based at the Franklin-Wilkins Building in London, SE1 9NH, and has been affiliated with King's College London since 1985.
