Frederik Gildberg

Frederik Gildberg is a Professor in Forensic Psychiatry and Head of Research at the Forensic Mental Health Research Unit, Middelfart, under the University of Southern Denmark's Department of Regional Health Research. With 177 research outputs and 64 teaching activities, his work focuses on forensic mental health nursing, symbolic interactionism, and qualitative methodologies like ethnographic fieldwork and thematic analysis.

His recent research explores ethnic disparities in rapid tranquillisation and mechanical restraint reduction in forensic settings, utilizing systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and qualitative interviews. Current projects include

He received the Årets Hovedvejleder (Main Supervisor of the Year) award in 2023. His methodology portfolio includes domain analysis, taxonomic classification, and participant observation in acute psychiatric environments.
