John Anthony Baker is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Regional Health Research at the University of Southern Denmark. He is affiliated with the IRS - Mental Health Services in the Region of Southern Denmark and the Forensic Mental Health Research Unit. His primary research focuses on mental health epidemiology, child and adolescent mental health, healthcare decision-making, and health outcomes related to ethnic minorities.
Research interests include statistical methods like Poisson and linear regression, study design methodologies, and the impact of cognitive function and mental capacity on societal outcomes. His work often involves large-scale prospective cohort studies to evaluate long-term effects of health behaviors such as breastfeeding on educational attainment and labor force participation.
He currently supervises two major research projects: PURE_CAP (Preventing Use of Restrictive Practices in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Patients) and ICEM (Improving Care for Ethnic Minorities in Forensic Mental Health Settings).
